Akanthos,_silver_tetradrachm_tetradrachm,_480-465_BC_.JPG
Akanthos, silver Tetradrachm , circa 480-465 BC194 viewsOnly 12.93 grams of .999 silver. Under weight for a tetradrachm! But a nice cast replica. Different odd style(to me).
It seems to be aging in an interesting way. Some blue dots are starting to appear due to oxidation.

Sold on Ebey in 2008 as a replica. It came unmarked...

Obv:- Bull kneeling left, looking back, attacked by lion right on his back; above in ex, floral ornament.
Rev:- Quadripartite incuse square

I bought this replica on Ebay in 2008. The weigh is 9.23 gr. And was told it was STRUCK in .950 Silver. A little under weight in my opinion. But no doubt it is a strikingly beautiful piece of it's type.
