Hadrian Italy fake denarius369 viewsEbay seller can be easily recognized by background. Cast (most probably, may be also from cast dyes) fake, underweight (2.4g).
The seller however admitted fake and refunded totally. This fake was sent to the seller back so it can appear on Ebay again.

Commodus, bimetallic medallion321 viewsCurtis Clay noted: It is a cast. Note the circular line inside the edge on both sides. On the original, that was the dividing line between a red copper center and a brass edge or vice versa, a bimetallic medallion which was apparently considered fancier because of the differing colors of the metals.
On this medallion we can see in the image that the edge and the center are the same yellowish metal. A unimetal bimetallic medallion, because it is a modern cast not an original! Fortunately you cannot cast center and rim in two different metals so as to make your fake more deceptive!

For sale on eBay 01/29/2005 by Toronto Group, ID "babylonruinz".

The Toronto Group would often use photos of the genuine original coin on eBay but the coins shipped to customers would be casts of the original. The coin in the photo may be genuine. But we know these same photos were used over and over for many sales over several years. There are many fake copies. In hand under magnification the casts look cast. So there is little danger of causing confusion with coins in hand.
