Anon time of Constantine85 viewsObv: VRBS ROWA (sic)
Helmeted head of Roma left
Rev: Wolf and twins left, two stars above TRD (sic) in exergue
Normal size for an Urbs Roma but is fully silvered and has an inverted M in "ROMA" plus a blundered TRD (sic) mintmark. The rim is natural, rather than obviously cast or filed neat. Can only conclude a modern copy by an ignorant die engraver.mauseus

Rev.:
Cross in wreath.
Exe: COMOB
Mint: Rome
Date: 467-469
Denomination: tremissis
Weight: 1.55 g
Ref: RIC 10 2841
It’s .1 g too heavy for a tremissis (usually 1.42-48) and the style is all wrong. Incorrectly attributed in the catalogue to Constantinople and RIC 10.2906.Hydatius

Arcadius69 viewsHand of God Fakes
From Warren Etsy:
Individually these two look pretty good. However, in this image you can look at them together and see flan cracks or dings at 3:00 and 11:00 and 5:30 on the obverse of each, 4:00 on the reverse of each. Everything matches up too except the applied "earthen" cover (and even that is pretty similar on both).
The coins show the typical mushy weakness of casts. But being clones is conclusive.

Arcadius Thessalonica solidus- RIC IX 51var350 viewsObv: D N ARCAD - IVS P F AVG
Pearl and rosette diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right
Rev: CONCORDI - A AVGGG

Exe: COMOB (should be CONOB)
Mint: Thessalonica

Ref: RIC 9 51var (different obverse die break; 9 51 known only from copy in bronze)
The style ldoes not match that of of contemporary Thess. solidi. A virtually identical solidus (including several surface flaws (not die flaws)), but in better shape, was sold by Fritz Rudolf Künker Münzenhandlung Auction 111 lot 7110, 18 March 2006. It too may be a fake, but it may also be the host coin for this cast copy.
Offered for sale on eBay by Serdiko.
