A potential consignment in Italy, supposedly from and old collection of unearthed coins. Struck from modern dies. The edges, as are typical of this type of fake, are oddly jagged. The patina is dark green and shiny and quite attractive.

This is a reproduction of a Roman brass sestertius of emperor Gordian III. The obverse shows a wreathed head of the emperor dressend in armor with a spear over his right sholder. The obverse shows a ship facing right with warrior spearing a person in the water. Victory is on the prow of the ship. The inscription of GO NONI OCEANEN. These pieces are NOT ancient coins. Each coin is stamped 'COPY' on the reverse.
