Radiate head of Helios facing, slightly right.
ΡΟΔΙΟΝ above rose with bud to right, thunderbolt on left, ΕΥΚΡΑΤΗΣ magistrate.

18.406 gr, 24.08 - 26.03 diameter.
SNG Keckman 547, sammlung Karl 492

The edges are odd, the unnaturally thick fabric is strange for the type.
Genuine Rhodian tetradrachm emissions of this late era are on fairly thin flans.
Way overweight, listed as having the weight of 18.406gr while genuine examples of the type are more or less 5 grams lighter.
Odd surfaces showing mould transfer errors, (particularly noticeable around the thunderbolt), casting pearls, overall a " mushy", unnatural, porous reverse look, are typical of inferior quality cast fakes.
The engraving style of the dies is good and exactly the way it should be for the type; it appears that this fake comes from moulds originally taken from a genuine, ancient struck coin.
