Gordian III, 29 July 238 - 25 February 244 A.D.
|Errett| |Bishop| |Collection|, |Gordian| |III,| |29| |July| |238| |-| |25| |February| |244| |A.D.|, Virtus was a specific virtue in ancient Rome. It carried connotations of valor, manliness, excellence, courage, character, and worth, perceived as masculine strengths (from Latin vir, "man"). It was thus a frequently stated virtue of Roman emperors. Virtus was not a term commonly used to describe children. Since virtus was primarily attributed to a full grown man who had served in the military, children were not particularly suited to obtain this particular virtue.
