The Alex G. Malloy Egyptian Antiquity Collection

Egyptian, Beaded Horus Falcon and Kebhsenuf Funerary Ornaments, Ptolemaic Period, 304 - 30 B.C.

These beaded Horus Falcon and Qebehsenuef funerary ornaments were likely placed on the chest of a mummy sheathed in strands of blue faience beads.

This small piece of glass may not seem like much but larger pieces from the master craftsmen of this workshop are very rare. Even a small fragment like this one is museum quality and suitable for an important collection.

Roman Egyptian, Terracotta Bust of Harpocrates with Finger to Mouth, 1st - 3rd Century A.D.

Shhhhh! quiet!...In Greek mythology, Harpocrates is the god of silence. Harpocrates was very popular in Egypt during the Ptolemaic and Roman Periods, as evidenced by his numerous terracotta household idols, such as this one.
