Justin died nine days later, leaving Tiberius II Constantine as sole emperor. He was very popular because he cut taxes and was very generous with the funds of the Empire. He appointed Maurice as his successor and gave his daughter in marriage to him. Tiberius II Constantine died in 582. The regnal years of Tiberius are determined from his appointment as regent and Caesar in December 574. |
