Jerusalem was renamed Colonia Aelia Capitolina, in honor of Hadrian. Legio VI Ferrata rebuilt the legionary fortress in the city and constructed a Roman temple at Golgotha. An altar to Jupiter was erected on the site of the Temple in Jerusalem.
