Capped Bust Quarter, 1832
|United| |States|, |Capped| |Bust| |Quarter,| |1832|, John Reich designed this capped-head concept of Liberty, and it was modified by Chief Engraver of the Mint, William Kneass. It proved to be a popular design and lasted from 1807 to 1839 on the half dollar, 1815 to 1838 on the quarter, 1809 to 1837 on the dime, and 1829 to 1837 on the half dime. The standards for the type are 89% silver, 11% copper, 24.3 mm, 6.74 grams. 1832P mintage: 320,000.

Silver 25 Cents, Type 2, reduced diameter, no motto, VF, toning, graffiti on obverse and reverse, Philadelphia mint, weight 6.558g, maximum diameter 24.3mm, die axis 180o, 1832; obverse bust of Liberty left, wearing cloth cap, band inscribed LIBERTY, tresses flowing to shoulder, neckline draped, brooch at shoulder, 7 stars left, 6 stars right, 1832 below, graffiti: LOWELL B WARREN and reversed S; reverse UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, eagle perched on olive branch and three arrows, a shield on its breast, 25 C. below; illegible graffiti; ex Moneta Numismatic Services; SOLD
