Hadrian, 11 August 117 - 10 July 138 A.D.
|Hadrian|, |Hadrian,| |11| |August| |117| |-| |10| |July| |138| |A.D.|, Abdy notes that almost 95% of the material in his new Roman Imperial Coins, Volume II, Part 3 (RIC II-3), was minted at Rome. He has identified this type as an eastern mint issue. Abdy note the eastern denarii mostly copy types made at Rome but were engraved in various styles dissimilar to Rome and often mismatch obverse and reverse legends. They were likely struck at various mints throughout Asia Minor and the Levant and may have been struck to support imperial visits to the area.
