Elagabalus, 16 May 218 - 11 March 222 A.D., Tyre, Phoenicia
After the legate of the Third Legion Gallica, quartered at Tyre, unsuccessfully attempted to usurp the throne, Elagabalus stripped the city of its colony status. Reverse legends on the city's coinage changed from SEP IM TVRP COLO to simply TVRIORVM. Colony status was returned by Severus Alexander.RY89285.
