Lampsakos, Mysia, 500 - 450 B.C.
|Lampsakos|, |Lampsakos,| |Mysia,| |500| |-| |450| |B.C.|, This type, traditionally attributed to Thermai in Macedonia, has recently been reattributed to Lampsakos. Although agreement with the reattribution is not universal, CNG recently noted, "the style of Pegasos, particularly in the appearance and rendering of the far wing behind and below the truncation, is the common form used on the early silver at Lampsakos." We agree. There are other examples with a completely different style of Pegasos that probably are from Macedonia.
