Plotina, Augusta 105 - 129 A.D., Thyateira, Lydia, Conventus of Pergamum

She was renowned for her virtue and simplicity. In 100, Trajan awarded her with the title of Augusta, but she did not accept the title until 105. Plotina did not appear on the coinage until 112. She was largely responsible for Hadrian's succession to the throne after Trajan's death. Plotina died in 129 A.D.

Thyateira (also Thyatira) is the ancient name of the modern Turkish city of Akhisar ("white castle"). In Revelation, Thyateira is the church that had a false prophetess (Revelation 2:20).
