Julius Caesar, Imperator and Dictator, October 49 - 15 March 44 B.C.
The star on the obverse probably indicates the beginning of a new age. Caesar claimed descent from the goddess Venus. The small star at the base of Venus' scepter is symbolic of her divinity.
