They are called "crowns" because they may have been placed on the head of the victor. The crown on this coin may have commemorated the victory of an athlete from Anchialus at the Olympic Games.

AMNG II 493 (inscription arrangements), BMC Thrace p. 84, 10 (no fronds flanking, urn contains frond), VF, well struck with most legend on flan, mostly toned bare metal, some green encrustation, Anchialos (Pomorie, Bulgaria) mint, weight 10.644g, maximum diameter 26.4mm, die axis 45o, 9 Apr 193 - 4 Feb 211 A.D.; obverse AV K Λ CEΠ - CEVHPOC, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind; reverse OVΛΠIAN-ΩN - AΓXIAΛE,ΩN (last two letters in exergue), prize urn, flanked on each side by a palm frond, set upon agonistic table with decorated legs, CEBH/PIA / NUMΦIA below the table top between the legs; rare; SOLD
