Poland, Sigismund III Vasa, 1587 - 1632
|Poland|, |Poland,| |Sigismund| |III| |Vasa,| |1587| |-| |1632|, Sigismund III Vasa (Polish: Zygmunt III Waza) was King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania from 1587 to 1632. He also held the titles of King of Sweden and Grand Duke of Finland from 1592 to 1599. He was the first Polish sovereign from the House of Vasa. Sigismund was a religiously zealous ruler who imposed Roman Catholicism across his vast realm. His crusades against neighboring states marked Poland’s largest territorial expansion.
