Kingdom of Thrace, Lysimachos, 305 - 281 B.C., Portrait of Alexander the Great

He became one of the diadochi (successors) of Alexander who divided the empire and continually allied and warred with each other. In 305, he took the title of basileus (king), ruling Thrace, Asia Minor and Macedonia. He was killed in battle against Seleucus.
