It was hinted, without any supporting evidence that they came by way of Smyrna. The presence of a single Croesus half-stater points to a find in Asia Minor.
GA84803. Silver siglos, Carradice Type IIIb (early); Noe Sigloi group VI (reverse E), p. 11, pl. VII, 118. (same rev. die, possibly same obv. die), VF, well centered on the usual tight thick flan, Sardes (Sart, Turkey) mint, weight 5.551g, maximum diameter 14.8mm, c. 485 - 420 B.C.; obverse Kneeling-running figure of the Great King right, transverse spear downward in right hand, bow in extended left hand, bearded, crowned; reverse irregular oblong punch; bankers mark: crescent shaped punch; SOLD
