A superb example of a rare coin. This coin is dedicated to the goddess Fides for her good quality of preserving the public peace by keeping the army true to its allegiance.

Silver antoninianus, RIC IV 69, Cohen 27, BMCRE V 13, SRCV II 7322, EF, Rome mint, weight 4.78g, maximum diameter 23.0mm, die axis 180o, 217 - 218 A.D.; obverse IMP C M OPEL SEV MACRINVS AVG, radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right; reverse FIDES MILIT (the loyalty of the soldiers), Fides standing left holding standard in each hand; flanked by two additional standards; superb portrait, excellent strike, nice toning; rare; SOLD
