It's been quite a while since a post
here updating folks on changes, improvements, and additions
Here are the latest news:
1. The coin photos page has additional coin types
and some improved photos to help
you with your Ptolemaic bronze coin identifications. Coin types
recently added to the site's coin photos page include Svoronos
1193, 1156, 1496, and more (including two interesting uncatalogued 'decorated reverse
from Tyre). More photos coming soon, too.
2. The Metrology paper (AJN
2013) and the 'Sicilian' Ptolemaic bronze paper (NC 2011) can both be accessed from the main home
3. There's a small online-only paper updating the latest developments concerning 'Sicilian' Ptolemaic bronzes.
4. The site and the two print-published papers can now be found via the author's page on
which is a great resource for a lot of numismatists' academic publications.
5. The Metrology paper (AJN
2013) won an award from the Numismatic Literary Guild in August 2014:
Clement F. Bailey
Memorial Award for 'Best New Writer'
Thanks to AJN
editors who nominated the paper and the judges at NLG for this award.
Oh, yes - the Facebook page for PtolemyBronze has nearly 300 (!) 'like' connections - stop by the main site and click the 'I Like' button to join in the Facebook fun. The Facebook page gets special photos and small essay posts that provide some explanations and tidbits about various types

Thanks to everyone for their very kind words of support and helpful suggestions that have inspired the motivation to keep maintaining and improving the site.PtolemAE
