Adding an avatar
« on: February 23, 2013, 12:53:45 pm »
Hi

Simply I am someone who stumbles trough any new to me computer application.  I really want to upload photos of my coins in a gallery but simply I’m afraid I am going to screw everything up.

But my reason for writing this post is that I tried to upload an avatar into my discussion profile.  However I just kept getting the message “The avatar you have selected is too large or not an avatar.”

What I want to use is a photo of the obverse of one of my Roman Republic coins (see below).  I have continued to reduce the size of this photo until it is about the size of my small fingernail.

Any guidance would be welcome.

Also where could I upload a mini bio about me relating to my interest in coins and how I got into ancient coin collecting?

Best regards

Dick

Try these. I'm not completely sure what the limits are but I hope one of these works.

Mine's 80x100, I believe the width is limited to 80 pixels.

Richard,

Here's the information I found in another thread from a while back:

"The maximum allowed size for avatars [is] 85 x 200 pixels.

Alex.
"

More info on avatar size.

90 X 83 also works (this avatar) but 100 X 92 did not work
