Hi,

Just noted this (prompted by Nick's related note today). The updates to my website have, this year, been relatively modest as compared with the last three years, and plans for a major refresh will likely be in 2013. So, to be fair for others who have been working harder on their website updates during 2012, I'd like to drop out of competition for this year only. Nick might want to add another site to make up the list of 8.

There is of course another excellent, new and well-researched site on Roman Republican coins among the other seven (Steve Brinkman's site on anonymous denarius types), which will be getting my complete support.

Andrew

If that is your request, I will remove you from the list of nominees  :(

I will have to speak to the Committee about adding the runner-up.

Thanks Nick. Since I was in the awards spots in the last two years, and as (relatively speaking) I've added only a few pages this year, I feel that those who are actively building their websites should get the attention.

I've great plans for my 2013 revamp. Well, in my head anyway. If I only knew someone who was a whizz with html, who could convert my ideas into code....

Some stuff I did add this year, relatively small fry in the bigger context:
Four webpages cataloguing the coins of Luceria (based on someone else's work)
http://andrewmccabe.ancients.info/RRC43.html
The corvus on RR bronzes (based on someone else's work)
http://andrewmccabe.ancients.info/Corvus.html

And, of course, I commend Steve Brinkman's site to all;
http://stevebrinkman.ancients.info/anonymous/
Steve's site currently covers all the early anonymous denarius issues of the Roman Republic, but I know it's intended to expand it the the Victoriatus (based on a 2009 Celator article by Richard Schaefer and Ken Friedman) and eventually to the silver fractions too.
