In T. V. Buttrey, Ann Johnston, Kenneth M. MacKenzie, and Michael L. Bates, "Greek, Roman, and Islamic Coins from Sardis", Cambridge 1981, there is on pages 81-82 in Note 247 a short paragraph about overstriking in Sardis, especially over Nero:
