Please Identify-South Indian coin, Pandyan?
« on: January 18, 2021, 01:59:23 pm »
Hi:

Recently purchased a South Indian coin; copper, weight appx 3g, 0.75". Obverse has figure of standing king (Ceylon type) flanked by two fish and a crescent above the right fish. The reverse has Tamil letters. The fish symbol indicates it's Pandyan but the Tamil letters do not match Sundrapandyan; but I may be wrong here. No match in Biddulph, Rapson, Mitchiner or Ganesh. Please identify with a reference if you have it. Thanks!
