SBCV-1900 Anonymous Follis Class J
« on: December 21, 2020, 11:34:11 pm »
I got a batch of uncleaned coins, this caught my eye. Its rare to see these so clean struck. The obverse has a lot of detail but after further observation its far from perfect. The right side of the cross on the obverse is blundered  in striking. The reverse is very nice.

I am soaking it in distilled water to see if I can get any improvements.

Nice find.  Among the "normal" anonymous series, class J folles are almost undoubtedly the scarcest.
