Hello,

RIC 7 gives (in index 1 obverse legend, page )

page 645, the legend noted is IMP CS MAR MARTINIANVS P F AVG   (with G at AVG) so it is RIC 16.

But in the index, it is wrote :
IMP CS MAR MARTINIANVS P F AVS n16... so its wrong. And the legend with AVG is noted as (sic).. inverted ref?

IMP CS MAR MARTINIANVS P F AVG  ... noted twice with ref n16 page 726... which is same as the page 725...

for the note under ric 16 (page 645) what mean slips? Im not english.

Thanks,

Online Pekka K

See Corrigenda Vol VII in NotInRic:

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/notinric/cv7.html

p. 645

CYZICUS 16. RIC gives obv. legend as: IM CS MAR MARTINIANVS P F AVS (sic!). See example of CYZICUS 16, off. A from MDC Monaco (auction 4, lot 134, 2.63 g).

Note, however, that on many specimens (from listed officina A as well as from unlisted officinae B and Δ) "S" in MARTINIANVS apparently looks like Γ and the whole legend should be given as: IM CS MAR MARTINIANVΓ P F AVS.

See example of CYZICUS 16 shown on plate 22 in RIC, example of CYZICUS 16, off. A from Vienna (RÖ 64156, 3.63 g, 20.9 mm) and example of CYZICUS 16, off. A from Leu Numismatik (Web Auction 8, part 2, lot 1482, 2.78 g, 20 mm).

See also CYZICUS 16, UNLISTED OFFICINA B and CYZICUS 16, UNLISTED OFFICINA Δ
