My Korean Gallery
« on: September 28, 2020, 11:21:32 am »
I recently acquired my first Korean cash coins. All are Sang Pyong Tong Baos. In general, they appear to be less readily available than the cash coins of China, Vietnam and Japan. I have already posted a few of them to my gallery, and will endeavor to post them here in clusters, by issuing authority.

These first two were issued by the Pyongan Kamyong/Pyongan Provincial Office (in Anju, Pyongan Province):

Mandel/Velde-Hartill 47.2A.2; KM 915.2
AE 1 mun; cast 1883; second series
Rev: 平 Pyong above: 二 O/2 below
https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-165600

Mandel/Velde-Hartill 47.5.5; KM 918.5
AE 1 mun; cast 1891-1892; fifth series
Rev: 平 Pyong above: 天 Chon (heaven; the first character of the Thousand Character Classic) below; 五 O/5 to left
https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-165599

Are there any other members of Forum who collect these or have an interest in them?
