Aureus of Julius Caesar

Dear member,

A friend of mine asked for my opinion about this aureus of julius caesar. I would say it is fake. It is quite worn, but my friend says it was used as jewelry. I promised him a second opinion through this forum, since i never had an aureus of Caesar before in my hand. The weight seems all right: 8,18 gms 22 mm

I thought the portrait was off, but i found this exemple in the archives. I also saw that the edge (sharp and like cast) is not unusual with this aureus.

To me it looks cast. Overall soft details. The letters and the head are evenly worn.

I agree it looks cast, but I am not 100% certain.
