Is this a Fake Coin?

It has a fabric like appearance on the surface. Please see Pics. More noticeable on the Reverse.

Please provide us with the information the rules indicate we need--photos of both sides, metal, size, weight if possible.  We can do much more if you will give us the information we need/

I have never seen a coin genuine or fake with surfaces like that. That makes me think it is more likely fake.

Possibly an attempt to imitate severely crystallised surfaces?

More Info:
Greek - Baktria - Diodotos I
Size 17.75 x 16.57 mm
Weight 2.09 gr.
Silver

I thought I attached the Reverse Picture when I entered this post. I hope it attaches this time.

It is close to Sear #7499 but matches the Description of #7497 (Gold)

If this was cleaned using electrolysis could it do this?

The mushy letters and the melting eagle on the reverse convince me this is a modern cast.  The original would be struck in high quality gold--this is very pale and would not be silver if gneuine.

Right, I didn't even look at the type. Clearly fake.

Perhaps the cast just cooled slowly, allowing the growth of crystal structure.

Is it even made of metal? At 2.09 g its unlikely to be silver. It looks like fiberglass and resin pressed into a mold. Or perhaps the crude mold was made of an epoxy fiberglass mix imparting the surface texture to the cast? Whatever, its totally unconvincing!
All historical inquiry is contingent and provisional, and our own prejudices will in due course come under scrutiny by our successors.

I've found images of this coin on Coinindia and Vcoins on a Google Search.
http://coinindia.com/galleries-greek-diodotos.html 4.01 gr.
I have attached the picture from Vcoins 2.55 gr. but the web page has been removed.

I see that this type of coin surface has been discussed on the forum previously titled "Porosity/Crystallization" https://www.forumancientcoins.com/board/index.php?topic=53505.0.

The surfaces of the coins on that post are quite similar to this coin.

As a reply about fiberglass, this is definitely a silver colored metallic coin. I have no way to test it to see if it is actually silver.

No, this surface is not like the others. It may look similar in enlarged photos but in hand it will not be. The features of "crystallization" or "etched surfaces" on those coins is much smaller/finer. This may have been a failed attempt to look like that, but it does not.
