Dubious Michael III solidus S. 1688

So this coin is currently on auction.  I cannot find any die maches for the obverse or reverse. Although I recognize that there is quite a variety of styles for this issue, this one just looks wrong to me.  For example:  Loros dots seem too small.  Cross bars in the crown's cross seem too narrow.  Emperor's moustache seems too thick and too emphasized.  Emperor's hair is too unregulated.  Both Christ's and the Emperor's expressions look off (though in some ways Christ's expression might seem better than many coins that are definitely genuine).  In addition, the Gospel book usually (but admittedly not always) is usually tilted the other direction.  Having said all that, there is a lot that the die sinker got right.  Perhaps a contemporary imitation?  Or is it modern?
