Hi,

I have added an unpublished denarius for Domitian, minted in Rome in 73 AD for its COS II (see David's gallery on RIC 541 under Vespasian for the historical context - ie the triumph for Judaea and Domitian on his superb horse -).
The difference with the very rare 541 is that the observe legend is from low right and not low left.
Style (for both sides) is splendid.
Weight is low but the coin is not plated.
Best

You are completely right, Pekka. I was, at all levels,  too fast in my assesment.
I change the reference.

I know from my own experience that haste can lead to misclassification. It occurred to me more than once.

Beautiful specimen in any case.

It's happened to all of us, especially with Domitian!  But a great coin, I really like the reverse.

Here's mine

Cheers, Alberto & Jay (and Pekka again).
Yes, I played the music too fast indeed.
Always something to learn.
Best to everybody

Now, if the obverse legend started on the opposite side then you would have a rarity!

Nice coin regardless.

Agreed, David : would be a real one this time.
Best, sir
