What does a Didius Julianus go for these days...
« on: June 20, 2019, 07:14:10 am »
Hello, I have a Didius Julians coin that I found metal detecting. I sent it off and got it certified. I heard it's a pretty rare coin, but don't know like the RIC # because there is limited info of this coin out there. Anybody know what this coin might be worth? Here is some of the info.

NGC Cert #
4282889-003

NGC Description
Didius Julianus, AD 193 ROMAN EMPIRE AR Denarius

NGC Grade
VF Strike: 4/5 Surface: 3/5

We do not discuss prices here.  If you want to sell, consign your coin to Forum Ancient Coins.  Our consignment agreement is here:

If you post your question on other online Forums, you will get answers but they will be ridiculous (which is why we do not allow price discussion here).

Ok, do you know where I can find information about this coin? How do I determine what the rarity of the coin is? Is there a link to the consignment of coins?

Thanks much for the OCRE link; yet another very useful resource for geographical knowledge of finds. If I might say so, my deepest appreciation to Joe for hosting this board and to him and the other experts who are willing to devote their brains and time to helping out the more amateur collectors such as me.
Best,
Larry
