« on: December 21, 2018, 07:32:31 pm »
Well I think I have successfully loaded my first coin to start my gallery.  I hope to get a few more of my small collection in the next week up.  If you notice any mistakes or issues with the loaded gallery just give me a heads up.  I am also more than open to suggestons.

Thanks for looking.

Welcome to the hobby, Blayne, and welcome to the Forvm. Some of us are very focused in our collecting interests and others are more all over the place. This is a great place to get ideas, and to learn. Stkp

Thanks Joe.  I should be posting some more here soon.   Trying to determine if some of my uncleaned coins are worthy yet of inclusion in the Gallery.

Loading 4 coins today.  I think that they do deserve a future attempt at  trying to get better pictures for them.

A shout out to shanxi for helping identify my first coin of the Crusades. A Valence Denier

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-152262

while shouting I will also thank djmacdo for helping id the mint this VRBS Roma came from...

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-152263

this next coin came from a lot of 6 denaris I purchased through the forum auction.  It is my first Julia Domna

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-152260

and finally today this is one of my newly building campgate collection...  has an interesting obv. I will have to get better photos of it. NOt sure if it is wear or an error in the stamping process.

Hope you enjoy and as always if you have any questions about them or concerns about my attributation just message me.   Have a great weekend.

Thanks .  I have really enjoyed it.   I am just starting to organize some of my uncleans as well so will be loading them into a separate gallery.  Most of them are pretty common but they deserve a gallery as well.    Most will be a work in progress but the winters are long here in Canada.

Re: Blayne's Ancient Gallery-Uncleaned display
« Reply #21 on: January 11, 2019, 02:51:32 pm »
Today I am starting a new Gallery with coins that I have gotten uncleaned and have been cleaning them.  Most I feel will be in a constant state of trying to improve but I will upload the ones that I am most happy with.  Obviously they will primarily be the common types but I still believe they deserve a showing.

I am starting with one of my favorite series.

This is a Campgate from Constantine I

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-152422

The second is another area were I am thinking I will focus on , which is Gallienus Zoo series.

My first Antelope.

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-152421

And finally today I have an Aurelian with the VIRTVS MILITVM reverse, which this version not in RIC.

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-152420

I believe I have all the attributions correct, but as always if you see a mistake please don't hesitate to tell me.

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

Here are the new additions to my gallery today.

I bring today

a nice Fallen Horseman from Constantius II

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-152624

a VOT XXX from Constantine The Great (not sure what to make of the edges on it)

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-152625

also a very sharp Licinius , not 100% clear inf I have the exergue correct.  I believe it should read dot SMK which would make it not listed in RIC.  However, what I read as the Dot could just be part of the S missing off SMK.

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-152626

Anyways if anyone has any  opinions on any corrections I need to make, just give me a message.

Thanks again for looking and any comments.

Blayne
