It has been a while since I posted anything. I recently acquired a copy of the book 'The
Cunetio and
Normanby Hoards' (
spink 2018) and my interest in third century coins was there again because of this book.
Browsing online I found this nice
claudius 2 coin and tried to determine it. I couldn't find it while searching on the
reverse until I noticed that NERTUN
AVG isn't a known
reverse With the coin in hand it shows a N where a P should be. And looking at it with a magnifying
glass I am
still not sure if it is a die break or an engraver mistake. But I
had to share this nice little coin:
