This coin is currently for sale by a reputable auciton house.

I do not like coin especially the style, which reminds me on the syle of other Bulgarian fakes I own or have seen so far.
I am not familiar with this issue so I can not authenticate this coin!

Is it normal that the same dies were used to mint gold and silver coins at this time for late Roman coins???
I thought that it stopped much earlier that the same dies were used for gold and silver about 200 AD.

  • I love this forum!
Here's a real one from Berlin (8,91 g; https://ikmk.smb.museum/object?id=18200865). It's RIC 9 11a, only struck in gold. As you can see from the style, your examples are definitely fake.

I am getting the last 11 missing Slavey replicas (I have some so far unpublished ones) and I have noticed that the coin at auction is actually from Slavey he has still this modern dies used to produce the fake at auction :)
I will get my die matching copy in silver soon!
I knew that the style was completely modern and that I know the style.
I feel so ashamed that I did not realize immediately that it is a Slavey :(

I change my opinion without the smallest doubt the coin at auction offered for "Starting Price: 12 000 EUR" is 100% FAKE!!!!

Pictures in this post some of the Slavey coins missing in my collection which will be very soon mine.
In this picture is a die match to the fake at auciton.
