Hispania and the rabbits
« on: September 22, 2018, 04:25:50 pm »
In the dictionary of Roman coins,  after discussing Hadrian Hispania coins, there is a note to see Eckhel's remarks on the rabbit as a symbol of Hispania, in his prolegomena to the coins of Hispania, vol i p 8.

The Forvm wiki has links to Eckhel, but it is in Latin.  All I can make out is that the rabbits were abundant.  Does anyone have a source for Eckhel in English?
