Suspected Roman Provincial
« on: March 12, 2018, 07:20:41 pm »
Roman provincial I think. Worn but with some details. It is 19mm and weighs in at 14gr.
And looks like it has a spot of bronze disease on the obverse. :(

Assistance is appreciated, I don't have much to go on to put into any of the search engines.

Hi CH,

On the reverse, at the 3:00 position, I see a bird.

Could it be Judaea, Ascalon?

Here are my examples (scroll down, third and fourth coins):

The style of the bird matches.

that's it! That is the one. I wasn't getting the bird, I kept thinking it was
part of a ship and just couldn't match up that profile to anything I found.

Thank you!

Candice H,

Your coin is dated IC=210 of the city era, corresponding to AD 106. The emperor is Trajan.

DO NOT CLICK ON "PREVIEW."
It does not work. It just kills the image.
I think.
