Hmmm? ... I'm a bit coin-bored, so I figured that I'd post a couple of soothing dog-family-photos

=> yup, it's almost feeling like Spring, eh? => it's already warmed-up to -11 degrees Celsius! (T-Shirt weather)

Wow Jay, Toronto sounds tropical

Sadly, it's usually the end of "May" before they finally open-up our northern, snow-covered golf course

=> hey, only 2 months away! (yippeeeee!)

Thanks for your concern, Peter Murphy (Ancient Aussie) .... yes, I am feeling okay lately (my lungs are still screwed-up, but that is certainly not stopping my vino consumption)

 ;)

=> oh, and I hope that you are doing well

Enodia ... I saw what you did there (Peter Murphy being the lead singer from Bauhaus)

Yeeeeehaaaaa!!

=> yup, I added "two" cool gallery examples today ... wanna see 'em?

 :zag: :Greek_Eta: :Greek_Alpha:  -  :Greek_Beta: :Greek_Alpha: :Greek_Mu: :Greek_Mu:

Lucania, Metapontion, AR Nomos
400-340 BC
Diameter: 20.48 mm
Weight: 7.67 grams
Obverse: Head of Demeter
Reverse: Barley ear, ME right
References:
Other: Sweet Reverse

CLAUDIUS AE As
Rome mint
41-42 AD
Diameter: 25.5 mm
Weight: 11.1 grams
Obverse: TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG P M TR P IMP. Bare head at left
Reverse: S-C across field, Minerva standing right, brandishing spear and holding shield on left arm
Reference:  RIC I 100
Other: full details on both sides until the last letter (very difficult in this issue) ... nice portrait of the emperor ... excellent dark & desert patina

Yah, I liked several things about both of these great coins ... it is always hard to get rid of coins that I've hunted in a previous situation ...

The Lucania is a nice, big silver winner with a fantastic barley reverse ... the coin has great presence in hand

Oh, and the Claudius is also very cool ... yes, it is "real" desert-patina, so that alone makes it awesome (plus, it's a nice big heavy As pocket-winner)

Those are both awesome. I still have a thing for the desert patina,  and of course being Canadian I have a thing for barley.i think I will have a beer tonight to toast those two great coins!

Nice!!

=> that's the spirit, Blayne (you rock, my awesome Canuck coiner!)

Thanks, yah I like both of those coins ... thanks for responding (I "love" when you guys leave some coin feedback)

=> that's what it's all about, yes? ... I love being able to show-off and talk about my coins with people who have a bit of a clue (oh, and you guys seem to be the Pinnacle of the coiners ... I honestly appreciate whenever you guys toss-in the odd scrap of coin knowledge)

Cheers
