Request for opinions on a bronze statuette
« on: October 25, 2015, 07:59:46 am »
I found this at a local antique shop perhaps 35 years ago and have always considered it a probable imitation.  It is bronze 4.5"  (115mm) tall.  Not very well detailed; I used to think it may have represented Seth but that doesn't really make sense and lately have concluded it may be a version of Khnum (ram) with a solar disc headdress.  I would appreciate any opinions as to what it represents and as to whether it is a common reproduction.  Since I can only use a flat plate scanner for images the images are wanting but pretty much portray how it looks in hand.  Thanks in advance...
