Being that I'm new to all of this, if someone could help translate the Greek in the description, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm slowly learning to put things together

Thanks

The obverse says Zeus Lydios (no surprise) and the reverse says Sardianon, "of Sardis".  This latter is known as the ethnic, and a genuine Greek scholar will probably have a better translation like "of the Sardisians" or "of the people of Sardis" but "of Sardis" captures the gist.

The majority of Provincial city coins use the genitive plural of the city name to attribute the coin to the citizens of the city rather than to the city itself.  Modern coins name the country like it were responsible for the issue itself.  There certainly are exceptions but it was just they way people looked at the matter in the day.   Call it a coin grammar lesson.   Of course small coins often abbreviated the legends and lost the endings (language teachers must hate this).

Is there a Hendin number for this coin and if so how do I look it up?

I don't think this coin would be listed in any of Hendin's books.  He writes mostly on Judean coinage.  What gave you the idea it would be in Hendin?

Hendin is a book on Judaean coins, so you will not find it there. There is a BMC reference (British Museum Collection) in the description.

Note that "BMC Lydia" in the coin description is in blue text (and anywhere "BMC Lydia" is in the Forum shop or this discussion board).  Click on it and you will go to the Numiswiki page for Catalogue of Greek Coins in the British Museum, Lydia. On that NumisWiki page you find a link to a BMC Lydia PDF that is available online.
