Title: Babylonians using Pythagoras theorem 1,000 years before the birth of Pythagoras?

A 3700-year-old Babylonian clay tablet that has been on display an Istanbul museum for over a century, but it's deeper significance was not noticed. Apparently an Australian mathematician studied it and discovered the earliest example of applied geometry known so far. The tablet, Si.427, was found in what is now central Iraq in the late 1800s. But its importance was not realized until now.
