bad reference source as most of the inferences on that page are wishful thinking
It is not an impossibility but not a typical formation of the symbol
It is a
christian community at the time, and the C/M struck over the
face which makes for a compelling inference from a modern perspective
But the C/M would have been imposed by an authority. Would that Authority have used a
Christian Symbol?
if it was a
christian authority, perhaps intended for use by a small community, why the improper formation of the
CHI-RHO?
I think without more evidence the negative outweighs the potential.
It would be interesting to know the context of the find to weigh against how and where the coin was employed
I should note I believe the Straurogram (what the C/M looks like) usage
comes later than the
Chi-Rho since it references the
cross, a later
christian symbol. Which is why there might be a possibility of a
christian C/M occurring at a later time but....
