siege coin to id
« on: November 29, 2011, 12:14:41 pm »
i bought this hoping that it could be some siege coin (slim chance but worth taking)

it has a castle with three towers and AIR written at the center of it

the other side looks flat.

it could be made of lead

weight 12.3 grams
34mm

any ideas ?

I would say this is a lead bulla, formerly attached to some official document.

I do not know much about lead seals. Maybe the castle-symbol and the letters A R could point to some king of Castille named Alfonso?
