« on: March 01, 2010, 10:42:56 am »
The legend on the obverse has completely disapeared.
Obv: Emperor facing right.
Rev: Victory standing right & holding staff
Legend: [...] DT [...]
D: 19mm

Any ideas??

Looks like Caracalla (?) with Eros leaning on torch on reverse.

Ancient coins were struck by hand from dies made by hand, all a little different. It is important to understand this.

Also, if your coin IS Caracalla it might be from another city (e.g. Nikopolis and Markianopolis) and/or it might have been struck earlier than the one you link to.
