Bosporus Tyra Claudius I Issue?
« on: June 07, 2008, 06:15:19 pm »
Ave!

A few months ago I received an Ae As-sized issue that was noted as "Tyra, Bosporos, copper, 54-68 AD. Countermarks on As of Claudius I, Rare."

I've looked about here and there and can find nothing to match it.

Can anyone help me?

Best,

Kevin

Hi!

Tyra(s) was located in Sarmatia on the nothern coast of the Blacksea at the mouth of the river Dnjestr. It's a rare city.

Best regards

Ave!

Well...I know this, Jochen...and that's the problem concerning this issue.

Best,

Kevin
