Hi, all. Here is another very small lead
tessera with a difficult-to-see design. Could be a
star or spoked wheel, or a
shield with such a design, but any ideas are welcome. The lower half is flattened and the pattern is erased, but I have drawn what I think would be there. I found a vaguely similar design in Anit
Hamburger's article on
tesserae from
Caesarea Maritima, but hers is considerably larger and not really the same. Thanks, again. Jimi

star or wheel pattern bearing eight
rays or spokes, maybe intended to represent a
shield?
Rev: Raised circular device with central pellet. The lower
quadrant is damaged on both sides, erasing the image in
these sections.
