I agree, worn coins, especially silver, can be very attractive, I actually like many
test cut coins, too. It shows that they were used. I have a worn 1875
German Mark and an old silver US quarter in my "got in change"
collection of modern coins, basically these are coins I have picked up while traveling. I think I got the
German Mark from change in a drink machine where it
had probably been used as a quarter (on a US base in
Germany). But, it easily could have been in change from a
German store as the Marks were the same or similar sizes. I miss the different country's
money, but I guess the
Euro did simplify things. When I was stationed in
West Germany, a bunch of US silver hit the PX/Bowling Alley/snack
bar circuit that turned out to be from a kid who
had gotten into
his dad's coin
collection. I am willing to bet that kid got into trouble. LOL. A lot of it got returned after the word got out, though.
