Dear list,

Any opinions about this three standards coin from Alexander with the reverse legend around the coin instead of through the standards, 4,40 gm, 23 mm

Thanx

Legend-placement variant of Recueil Général 580, citing specimens in Berlin, BM, and Glasgow: there with rev. legend across field rather than around edge.

I have a similar coin which is a variant of yours. Obv. bust cuirassed only, not draped and cuirassed. Rev. legend NIK - AIE around, Ω - N across lower field, l. and r. of the central standard.

It is very easy to find unlisted variant of this type,
as it is listed cursorily in standard referencies.

Helvetica's spreadsheet lists some coins with this
type of reverse legend placement.

Who in their right mind would want to examine this type in-depth?  ;D
