I have looked around this site a bit and it is pretty interesting. I find all of the academic map site difficult to use, but I imagine this is a matter of a learning curve. Here are their major sections:

1. AWMC Interactive
2. Classroom Maps
3. Maps for Texts
4. The Romans: From Village to Empire
5. Wall Maps

Lots of ability to create custom maps.
